Major Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water systems, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and applying sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city experienced heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults follow periods of air raids in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
